ANSWER March 21st A LITTLE MORE The fact is, we do not know when Jesus was born. The Bible does not say when he was born. According to The New Catholic Encyclopedia, "The date of Christ's birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month" That reference work goes on to say that "the birth of Christ was assigned the date [that].... the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the dies natalis Solis Invicti (birthday of the invincible sun). On Dec. 25, 274, Aurelian had proclaimed the sun-god principal patron of the empire and dedicated a temple to him in the Campus Martius. Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong at Rome."-(1967), Vol. III, p. 656. In other words, the Catholic Church decided to use December 25th because it was already a day that was celbrated by the pagans as the birth of the sun god, Mithra. Though we do not know the date of Jesus' birth, the Bible does tell us when Jesus died. According to Luke the 22nd chapter, we find that he died on the date of the Jewish Passover celebration. This celebration occurred every year on the date of Nisan the 14th according to the ancient Jewish lunar calendar. The month of Nisan started on the first new moon after the spring equinox. The Jews did their date change at sundown each day rather than at midnight like we do. This year, Nisan the fourteeth this year began on March 22 at sundown, and continued until March 23 at sundown. Since the Jews used a lunar calendar and we use a solar calendar, Nisan 14 will fall on a different date from year to year, but it moves back and forth inside of about a 20 day window, form about the middle of March to about the first part of April.

Most likely not. In fact, he was probably born sometime in August, based on the weather patterns explained in the Gospel. The December 25th date was co-opted by the Catholic Church from popular Pagan traditions. As was the modern celebration of Easter.

No actually. Christians celebrate Jesus's Birth but fact is he wasn't born on this day he was born Early August to Late Septemeber. Dec 25 is a Pagan Holiday of Yule but Christians didn't want it to be celebrated so choose to replace it with Christmas. Just like jesus wasn't ressurected on Easter Sunday it in fact is ANOTHER Pagan holiday hand picked

I don't know, I heard that it was sometime in spring and was moved to the 25 for an unexplainable reason

Answer 2: The exact date of Christ's birth is not known, "says the Encyclopedia of Early Christianity. Still, millions of professed Christians around the globe celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25. Although the Bible does not give a specific date for Jesus' birth, it does provide evidence that he was not born in December. Significantly, most historians and Bible scholars reject December 25 as Jesus' date of birth. No doubt you will find such information in an encyclopedia to which you have access. Our Sunday Visitors Catholic Encyclopedia states: There is a general agreement that Jesus was not born on December 25. Hundreds of years after Jesus' death, December 25 was chosen as the date of his birth. (See Jehovah's Witnesses official website for further information)

Not necessarily. The modern system of months and dates was not there in Jesus time, so the 25 Dec. is an estimated date for the birth of Jesus.
