Because it is commanded in the Torah (Exodus ch.12)
Because of gratitude to God
Because it is a major pillar in handing down the national traditions
Because it is one of the important parts of Jewish identity.
Passover and Hannukah are two unrelated holidays, observed roughly 4 months apart.
Passover is observed today to commemorate the Exodus, when the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt, symbolizing liberation and hope. It serves as a time for families to gather and strengthen their bonds through shared rituals and traditions. Additionally, Passover reinforces Jewish identity and cultural continuity, connecting contemporary celebrations to historical events. Lastly, it provides an opportunity for reflection on themes of freedom and justice, encouraging awareness of current struggles for liberation worldwide.
Mat 4:4 Man (everyone) shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Jesus observed the seventh day Sabbath, the LORD'S Passover, the days of Unleavened bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, and the Last Great Day. All these holy days are commanded to be kept by everyone in the world.
It is observed on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

Passover is the holiday on which we commemorate the Exodus from Egypt (Exodus ch.12), when God commanded Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery (Exodus ch.3-4 and ch.6).
