You have it backwards. Boniface IV introduced All Saints Day to replace the pagan feast of the Lemures - in which the malevolent and restless spirits of the dead were propitiated. It took place on/about the 13th of May and All Saints replaced it. All Saints Day was moved to November 1 by Pope Gregory III (731-741) and the previous May 13th day was then discontinued.
