The color is often coupled with themes of happiness, wealth, and longevity. Red decorations and clothing are common. Over all it is a 15 day celebration including feasts of whole fish, pig, duck, or chicken and many other traditional dishes, and the lighting of fireworks to scare off evil spirits with their loud noise is also a very traditional practice.
