Santa's name for real was Saint Nicholas.

He gave food, money and gifts to the poor and to the orphaned children on Christmas. His nickname was "Santa". The modern-day "Santa" originates from this man (who wore green, not red).

Since Saint Nicholas, aka Santa, died on 6 December 343, we have no idea what his favourite band is because dead corpses don't talk.
