Not enough information. Most East European countries called themselves "socialist republics" prior to the collapse of Communism. Please post a new question with the coin's denomination (i.e. money unit, not just the amount), its date, and the country that issued it.
Eastern Europe
Ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union, and even before so, the economy of Eastern Europe was in shambles. After the collapse, there was high unemployment, drops in population, slow economic growth, etc. Some former Soviet countries are still in tough economic times from the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the current European debt crisis isn't helping. However, people generally remained joyful and optimistic, simply because they had finally defeated communism and were able to switch to democracy.

Many Americans did "hate" communism because they thought, or believed other who told them, that communism was unAmerican and that communists were only interested in destroying America. They felt threatened and hated the perceived threat. Despite the collapse of communism in most countries, many people retain those feelings. we don't hate them we are simply against the idea of communism, it threatens our power and also is bad for countries because it is dictatorship. you no longer are capable of making decisions on your own
