Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics used to have many differances, but today those differances are not as great, primarily because of the changes made in the Roman Catholic Church.

The two churches started as one, but the Catholics Split from the faith, they believed that the word of God (The Bible) was reserved for the elite and upperclass a group which was gifted in the teachings of Latin. Thus Latin became a language of the church, while in Eastern Orthodox Philosophy, God was available to all and should be presented in the most common language (usually Greek but it differed from region to languist region) So that was the first major difference.

Second, the Catholic Church does not believe in following th Hebrew calendar to determine Easter, even though Jesus's crusifixion date is so intertwined with Hebrew Passover. Catholics and western cultures believe that Easter will always be the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. While Orthodox christians believe it will fall on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox AFTER PASSOVER which is in concurance with the Hebrew Calendar.

Third, the Catholics believed in the salvation of certain traits, i.e wealthy donators so indulgences and often repentance as a form of Godly currency was often used (such as 20 Hail Mary's for a sin of Gluttony) While Orthodox Christians do have confessions, they are not nearly as public with a priest as they are with God.

The Idea of the Father vs the Leader, in Catholic tradition, the priest leads his congrigation facing away from the Altar and towards the congrigation, while Orthodox priests tend to invision themselves as part of the flock by facing their back to the people.

Finally one of the most controversial aspects is marriage. Orthodox Priests permitt marriage (only before they are ordained) while Catholic Priests do not. So an Orthodox christian can marry then become a priest (but they cannot be a priest then become married).
