That would be the Johnson family I think. A good friend of mine goes to it every August in upper New York State near Malone I believe he remembers going since he was about 6 and his great grandpa Sweeny told him that he has been going for as long as he could remember. One of his aunts estimates it has been going strong for about128 years and still counting. It is the longest anyone at the Grange Hall can recall although when I go to the Masonic picnic in September I will surely ask around. I believe the Siler reunion is the oldest: Descendants of Weimar and Margaret Rafferty Siler will meet for the 158th Siler Family Meeting on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Macon Middle School, 1345 Wells Grove Rd., Franklin, NC. The covered dish lunch will begin at noon, with a business meeting following the meal. Hosts this year are the descendants of Will and Ann Daniel Sloan. All family members and their guests are invited to attend. The first Siler Family Meeting was held in the Franklin area on January 1, 1853. This reunion is believed to be one of the oldest continuing family reunions in the United States.
