New Fire Holiday is known as Beltane.

Traditionally, sacred woods are kindled by the spark from flint or sometimes by friction. In Irish Gaelic, the Beltane Fire has been called "teine eigin" or fire from rubbing sticks. Rituals included a jump over the Beltane Fire, move through it, or often to dance clockwise around it. Livestock was driven through it or between two fires for purification and fertility blessings. In ancient times Druid priests kindled it at sacred places later, Christian priests kindled it in fields near the church after performing a Christian church service. Traditionally Rowan twigs were carried around the fire three times, then used it to rekindle the hearth fires ( NEW FIRE) after a thorough cleaning including the chimney and what was left was hung over hearths to bless the home.
