Though the wise men or magi were not named in the New Testament - tradition lists them as 3 men corresponding to the 3 gifts mentioned given to the baby Jesus. For those In the Eastern Church (Orthodox), a variety of different names are given for the three. However, in the Western Church (Catholic), the names have been considered to be settled since the 8th century AD as Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. The names of the Magi were derived from an early 6th century Greek manuscript in Alexandria.

Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar.
There weren't necessarily 3 wise men. There were only 3 gifts. There could have been 1 million wise men. No names were given in the bible though. Later traditions give them the names Balthasar, Caspar, and Melchior.
It is uncertain as to whether or not there were 3: there were 3 GIFTS of the Magi, though.
There were 3 wise men.
Their names were Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar - known collectively as The Magi.(Magi is the plural of Magus -meaning 'wise man' from which we get the word 'magician'.)

Nothing, by the wise men reached Bethleham, the Holy Family were ocupying a house.
Wise men came from the East bringing gifts for the child Jesus.Three gifts were given: - 1. gold 2. frankincense 3. myrhh. That does not mean there were three wise men. The Bible states three gifts, not three wise men. The wise men would have travelled with a large group accompanying them on their long journey. There may have been 3 wise men or many more, the Bible does not tell us. It only states that 3 gifts were given to the child, Jesus.Matthew 2:11 tells us the wise men saw the "young child" not a baby. By the time the wise men arrived the Baby Jesus was now a young child. So it stands to reason the wise men had a long journey from the time when they first saw the "star" and by the time of their arrival at "the house" of Mary & Joseph. The wise men went to "to the house", not to the stable. The gift of Gold represented - a King (Jesus - King of Kings)the gift of Frankincense - a sweet smelling fragrance to Godthe gift of Myrrh - an ointment rubbed over a dead body - thissignified Jesus' death 33 years later.
