â??Nochebuenaâ?? is what Christmas Eve is called in most Spanish-speaking countries all over the world, has its roots in the religious celebration of Jesus Christ birth which was appointed by the Roman Church to take place in the 24th day of December. The celebrations consist of a special dinner that is shared with the whole family, in fact, more than a dinner, it's a real feast, with pig roast in some countries, and a roasted turkey in others. There's also a mass at midnight to celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus Christ.
