Believe it or not some Christians like me are not really sure what to do with Christmas, or Christ Mass. I am a reformed protestant Christian that thinks we should give Christ Mass back to the Roman Catholic Church and be done with it. It was invented by a pope in the third or fourth century to appease newly converted pagans who were accustomed to celebrating winter solstice and Mithra.
So what should Christians do at Christ Mass? Serve others, just like Jesus did. Feed the poor, comfort the destitute, clothe the naked, love thy neighbor. But come to think of it that's what we are called to do every day of the year.
Lot's of Christians go to church to remember what Christmas is really about, but it is not about what you "should" or "shouldn't" do. You can do whatever you like, just enjoy the day and try and remember Christmas is about much more than presents.
There is no one way Christians celebrate Christmas. It is up to the individual to decide how to do that. Most Christians go to Church on Christmas Day and spend the day with friends and family
