Christmas celebrates the Birth of Jesus Christ which occurred about 2010 years ago, (give or take a few years). Before people celebrated Christmas, there were various holidays for various gods or; in the case of the Jewish people, to one God who ruled over all. December 25 used to be a Roman holiday that celebrated the birth of the sun god, and this was eventually changed to a holiday that celebrated the Birth of the Son of God (Jesus).
