Saint Inez ( or Agnes) was a child-martyr of the first centuries. The name is indirectly derived from the famous Latin Phrase- Agnus Dei- usually rendered as Lamb of God, a reference to Christ. Inex de Castro is not considered a saint, she was a Queen who lost her life to tragic domestic violence. She was exhumed and her restored body was enthroned in l357 AD. an easy number to remember for submarine fans, as this is the take-down sequence- Flood! l-3-5- and 7 ( the odd-numbered forward ballast tanks). so it goes. two different ladies, St. Inex and Inez De Castro.
I would capitalize it, and use it as part of a name. There are many examples as city-names in California, such as Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, and Santa Inez. I am visiting relatives in Santa Inez next week.
