The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come is the most frightening spirit to Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol." It represents the unknown future and forces Scrooge to confront the consequences of his actions if he does not change his ways.
To show Scrooge that there were happy times and not so happy in his past and that these cannot be changed
The spirt was in the living room (the main room of the house) as Scooge opened his bedroom door the Ghost bid him enter
He begs the spirit to bring down his cap thus shading his appearance. The spirt rebukes him for this statement
He felt it was may be a piece of raw potato or undercooked meat that caused a bad dream.
