The Massachusetts Bay Colony (consisting mainly of Puritan Christians) celebrated Thanksgiving for the first time in 1630, and frequently thereafter until about 1680, when it became an annual festival in that colony; and Connecticut as early as 1639 and annually after 1647, except in 1675. The Dutch in New Netherland appointed a day for giving thanks in 1644 and occasionally thereafter.
Oh, dude, the first state to adopt an annual Thanksgiving holiday was Virginia in 1619. They were probably like, "Hey, let's take a day off and eat some turkey," or something. So yeah, Virginia was all about that Thanksgiving vibe way back when.
Alabama was the last state to adopt Labor Day as a holiday. Oregon was the first to adopt the holiday in 1884 (some sources say 1887), but it wasn't declared a national holiday until 1894.

An activity can be adopted by us by giving full concentration and attention to it, and to practice it again and again. If we are crazy of our aim to adopt it, we should give our 100% efforts on it. For example, if we want to adopt football as an activity we have to give our time and to do practice on it.
