Women

Matt Warren - The Bible makes a passing reference towards weddings in Genesis just after woman is created from one of Adam's ribs. However, translation discrepancies have also said that the word used may not have meant rib and instead should have been 'side'. Therefore, it would appear that Eve was created from one half of Adam's sides, which provides a good explanation as to why we sometimes call spouses 'the other half'. It also goes on to say that a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
