The copyright to the Happy Birthday Song ( written by sisters Mildred and Patty Hill written sometime in 1898?) originally copyrighted by their sister Jessica in 1934 is now owned by Summy-Birchard publishing, a division of Time Warner.

The proceeds are split between Summy-Burchard and the Hill Foundation and apparently bring in about $2 million in royalties every year.

SOngs this old should really be in the public domain though. It's just ridiculous.
