its because they are in a parallel circuit not a series one.
basically if one light blows, it allows the same amount of electricity to flow to the rest of the circuit :)
hope that helps, im not the most amazing at physics, so sorry if its not using the correct terms
The load on a string of Christmas lights is typically located in the bulb itself. Each bulb is designed to produce light and consumes power when electricity passes through it. The collective load of all the bulbs on the string determines the amount of power required to illuminate the lights.
series
With series Christmas lights, if one burns out, the whole string stops working. With parallel Christmas lights one light burning out only affects that light. This makes it much easier to replace burned out lights in the case of the parallel lights.
can you take paint off christmas lights
One can find gold Christmas lights from many different stores and retailers. Some examples that sell gold Christmas lights include Lights For All Occasions and Christmas Lights Etc.
This phenomenon is due to the lights being connected in series, meaning that the current flows through each bulb in a continuous loop. When one bulb breaks, the circuit is broken, causing all the bulbs to go out.
House lights are wired in parallel. If they were in series, when one burned out, all would. Christmas lights are wired in a combination of series and parallel - roughly 50 lights in each series string. that's why if one bulb burns out, a section of the lights goes out.
The lights are most likely connected in a parallel circuit. In a parallel circuit, each light bulb has its own separate path to the power source. Therefore, if one bulb is missing or burnt out, the other bulbs can still receive power and continue to work.
To find and replace burned out Christmas lights, start by unplugging the strand and visually inspecting each bulb for darkened or broken filaments. Use a light tester or replacement bulbs to identify and replace the faulty ones. Plug the strand back in to ensure all lights are working before hanging them up again.
Outdoor Christmas lights are available at any home improvement, hardware or department store during the Christmas season. Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart and Target all sell outdoor Christmas lights.
Using christmas lights for halloween is somewhat confusing to me. What comes to mind is maybe placing all orange bulbs in a strand of christmas lights to make them halloween lights.
