People give thanks to Christ for the many blessings He has provided us with. Think about it; your bed, your clothes, your food, your family. These are all things that he has provided us, and also much much more. Things we don't necessarily need to survive, he has blessed us with, from little things, to huge things. What would we be without our Lord? This is why people give thanks.
