Well, there's no reason not to celebrate it. Christmas is the day in which Jesus Christ was born, and Easter is his Resurrection. In France, most religious people believe that way, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Now, if you ask why those who do not believe celebrate.. Well, they just take that opportunity to hang out with people and exchange gifts. But they only follow old Saint Nicholas' tradition, which I think is crazy, to lie to children about Santa Claus and his rein deers like that. But that's what they do. Well, at least children believe in something...
