they have been over hybridized to increase their size, length of stem & longevity after being cut that the scent got bred out of them. There is some work being done to breed the scent back in but I don't think there has been any success as of yet.

Florist sells holiday bouquets that use roses and carnations in a ratio of 2 to 7 She receives a shipment of 343 carnations How many roses will the florist need?

Since the ratio of roses to carnations is 2 to 7, we can set up a proportion to find out how many roses the florist will need. We have 2 roses to 7 carnations, so let's set it up as 2/7 = x/343, where x represents the number of roses needed. To solve for x, we cross-multiply and get 7x = 2 * 343, which simplifies to 7x = 686. Dividing both sides by 7, we find x = 98. Therefore, the florist will need 98 roses.
