From 1900 through 2199, every 19 years including 2000, Easter is the first Sunday after April 18 according to the Easter rules that accompanied the initial release of the Gregorian calendar in 1582. In addition to that being pretty late to begin with, in 2000 that was a Tuesday, five days before the next Sunday.
