To fix a bike that won't shift gears properly, first check if the cables are properly adjusted and lubricated. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the derailleur limit screws. If the issue persists, it may be a sign of a worn-out chain or cassette, which may need to be replaced.
vacuume solenod rear of trans
it could be the shift linkage being that both gears over there wont work
Your '01 Lincoln Town car might not shift gears because it is low on transmission fluid or because the transmission is damaged.
fluids are fine, no codes, and it wont shift past 2nd gear. any help?
I had the same problem. I found that my 2nd and 4th gears were worn to the point of non existance.
Is it an automatic or standard? automatic and fluid is not pumping when engine is running
im having the same problem now as we speak. i was told it was the shift solenoid located in the transmission.
Stick shift or automatic? any other gears work?
did the clutch cable come off? (if its a manual) that or there is a problem with the transmission.
You should check for codes first. it is an electronic transmission and changes gears based on information received from various sensors. If the throttle position sensor is bad, it will not shift gears correctly. mine wouldn't shift into second until 30 mph and wouldn't shift into 3rd until 55 mph.
A more accurate description of the problem along with if its an automatic or manual transmission is needed.
Mainly because the C6 transmission only has 3 gears and no overdrive.
