When you Buy skateboards they usally have a number on them like 7.75 or 8.25 there are many different measurements it does dont have to be one of the numbers listed. This number is the width of the board. If you have a board and you already put the griptape on it you probably have covered it up. To find the width take a measuring stick and take the stick arcoss the board form side to side. Make sure the board is not upside down. Do this in the middle of the board where it is the most flat. You should notice that the stick only touches the board on the sides of the board and the middle of the skateboard is not touching the stick this is ok dont try to push the stick down so that it touches the board all the way across. This is how you find the width. To find thickness just count the numbers of layerd wood this is called plys. Most boards have 7 or 8 plys.
Skateboard decks fall into 3 main sizes, 7.5", 7.75" and 8", although there are lots in between, they are the most common. This size is how many inches wide the deck is. 7.5" is quite narrow and 8" is wider.
Sometimes when you're buying a deck, the seller gives you a measurement like 31.5". That's usually about how long the board is.
Trucks are measured in CM and MM, Widths look like; 129, 139, 149mm.
and heights like 4.5, 5cm.
Hope this helps! ask me more if you want, i know a fair amount about skateboards :)
