depends on what the garbage is...... if its organic, usually its a LOT faster. if not, then were all screwed

Landfill is just another name for rubbish dump, or garbage tip. Just about every town in the world has one, and many cities have several. A few places have incinerators to burn their garbage, but unless they are very modern and efficient, incinerators just pollute the atmosphere instead of the ground.
When cans are thrown into a garbage can, they typically end up in a landfill where they can take many years to decompose. If not recycled, they contribute to environmental pollution and waste accumulation. However, if the garbage is sorted and the cans are recycled, they can be processed and repurposed into new products, helping to conserve resources and reduce environmental impact. Proper recycling helps minimize the amount of waste sent to landfills and supports a circular economy.

No it wont. actually some types of plastics take almost over 100 years just to start degrading. Recently scientist have made certain types of plastics that are able to break down in at least 1 to 2 years. also they had many plastics that don't erode easy so we can recycle or reuse them for more years and different uses.

Wet garbage refers to organic waste that contains a significant amount of moisture, such as food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, and other biodegradable materials. This type of waste is typically heavier and can decompose more quickly than dry garbage, leading to odors and attracting pests if not disposed of properly. Proper management of wet garbage is essential for effective waste recycling and composting processes. Many municipalities encourage separating wet garbage from dry waste to facilitate composting and reduce landfill contributions.
