How often do you water lawn after fertilizing?

You need to water the lawn right after spreading the fertilizer or at least within 24 hours. Past that, you should not have to water it again to keep it from burning if you follow the directions of the fertilizer you are using. If you want to water the lawn, then do it 2 or 3 times a week, depending on the type of grass and time of year, location in the country, type of dirt,.... Generally I hear an inch a week and water enought to get the water down in the dirt and then wait for it to dry out good on top. if you watered just a little every day the roots would be shallow because they did not have to dig deep for water and then when it gets really hot and you are not out there watering it, the plants suffers and eventually dies. If the plant has deep roots and is still drinking water from the water a few days ago then it will ge good to go in the hot sunny days.

Best thing to do is to water it immediately after you fertilize it. Leaving fertilizer on the lawn without watering it risks the chance of burning the grass.
