Since Mongoose are extremely fast they can easily avoid strikes (bites) from the snake. And too, the mongoose possesses a high tolerance to venomous bites.

The mongoose usually feigns forward lunges at the snake, in a show of aggression, then dashes in seizing the snake by the neck. The animal's sharp teeth bite deeply in, breaking the snake's spine.
