The small Indian mongoose, a relatively agile and adaptable creature, faces predation from various animals. Its natural predators include larger Birds of Prey, such as eagles and hawks, as well as snakes, which can ambush the mongoose. Additionally, domesticated animals like dogs may pose a threat, especially in urban areas where their habitats overlap. However, due to its agility and defensive behaviors, the small Indian mongoose can often evade many potential threats.
The one animal I know of that eats mongoose is a marabou stork.
Mongoose will eat snake eggs, snakes, insects, crabs, earthworms, birds and rodents. The Indian Gray Mongoose will fight venomous snakes and eat them if they win the fight (mostly cobras).
