You can find all of the monthly contests offered by Birds & Blooms online at: http://www.birdsandblooms.com/Contests

In each issue of Birds & Blooms you'll find information about 'Find the Acorn & Win' contest near the back of the issue on the contributor's guidelines page.

The 'Find the Acorn & Win' contest is a simple monthly contest entailing finding a small hidden acorn illustration somewhere throughout that month's issue. They have a similar contest online which entails finding a duckling named Webster somewhere throughout the Birds & Blooms website called 'Where's Webster'. This contest begins the 1st of each month and has, I believe, differing prizes each month. The prize for finding the acorn in the Aug/Sept 2010 issue of Birds & Blooms is a free years subscription to Birds & Blooms Extra - which, of course, has it's own version of this cute contest called 'Find Buzz and Violet' this one entailing a search for two separate illustrations of both a bee and a flower.

In all these contests I believe the rules are the same. Once you find the illustration, you send a note to the address given OR fill out the online form with: your name, address and the page number where the illustration was found. If you've answered correctly you are then entered in a drawing with all other correctly answered entries for a monthly drawing for that month's prize (the Aug/Sept 2010 issue will be offering 50 prizes of the free subscription mentioned above - not sure how many winners are in the other contests, but all further information can be found at the address given above or any issue of the magazines they offer).
