Why is paper important to mankind?

Paper is important to mankind for many different reasons, most importantly because it enabled written communications to be easily copied and stored (as opposed to stone and clay tablets). Until the computer age, paper books were the basic storehouse of man's knowledge. It also enabled references in everyday activities, from the ingredients on a cereal box to the blueprints for huge buildings. And what fun would it be to create an airplane out of sticks and stones?

Paper is used for writing or drawing on and writing down facts or information. The invention of paper allowed us to record historical events and use our imagination to write stories for others to read.

Paper should be saved because it's made out of one of our Natural Resources. Print only what is needed and recycle paper when possible. Paper comes from trees and trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.
