Domestic pollution is caused by landfill waste seeping into the groundwater flow.

Agricultural pollution comes from farms. It occurs when the farmers spray their land with pesticides and fertilisers which then run off the land when its raining , into nearby water sources . This pollutes the water and the marine life living in it. :)

How indrustrial use affects water supply?

Industrial use significantly affects water supply through high consumption and pollution. Industries often require substantial amounts of water for processes like cooling, cleaning, and manufacturing, which can deplete local water resources. Additionally, the discharge of pollutants into water bodies can contaminate freshwater sources, making them unsafe for both human and ecological use. This dual impact can lead to water scarcity and deteriorate the quality of available water supplies.

Where were factories located during the Industrial Revolution?

They had to be located along power sources and in this time it meant rivers or waterways. They needed the water for steam or water power. In England they built shallow canals so the mills had the water and ways to get the wool to market with shallow draft boats. It was this way until things could be powered by electricity.

Why are industries important?

they are important because they provide us many things for e.g-soaps & clothes. If we people are telling bad about industries the don't use the products that industries make. And second thing is that we are the only people who work at these industries the how can we tell bad about them?

What are four sources of sewage pollution?

Four common sources of sewage pollution include untreated sewage discharges from sewage treatment plants, combined sewer overflows during heavy rainfall, failing septic systems, and runoff from urban areas carrying pollutants into water bodies.

What are the mechanism of pollution?

Two principal mechanisms for water pollution are point sources and nonpoint sources. Point sources are specific locations of industrial discharge, such as a pipe that dumps into a river. Nonpoint sources is pollution that does not originate from a single point. Urban runoff and agricultural pollution are nonpoint sources.

What is marine pollution?

Marine pollution occurs when harmful effects, or potentially harmful effects, can result from the entry into the ocean of chemicals, particles, industrial, agricultural and residential waste, noise, or the spread of invasive organisms. Most sources of marine pollution are land based. The pollution often comes fromnonpoint sources such as agricultural runoff and wind blown debris.

How does industrial pollution affect your water?

Industrial pollution can contaminate water sources with harmful chemicals and heavy metals, making it unsafe for drinking, fishing, and agricultural use. This pollution can also disrupt aquatic ecosystems and harm aquatic life, leading to long-term ecological damage. It is important to address and regulate industrial pollution to protect water quality and human health.

What pollution is in Ukraine?

In Ukraine, the main sources of pollution include emissions from industrial facilities, transportation vehicles, and agricultural activities. Air pollution is a significant issue, with high levels of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide being common in urban areas. Water pollution from inadequate wastewater treatment, agricultural runoff, and industrial discharges also presents a major environmental challenge in Ukraine.

What are two main sources of pollutants that can contaminate groundwater supplies?

Sewage, nitrates from fertilizers, and phosphates all cause groundwater pollution.

What country has coastal areas with severe water pollution?

Many countries face severe water pollution in their coastal areas, but India is particularly notable due to rapid industrialization, urbanization, and inadequate waste management. The Ganges River, for instance, flows into the Bay of Bengal, carrying significant pollution from domestic and industrial sources. Other countries with severe coastal water pollution include China, Brazil, and the Philippines, primarily due to similar issues related to industrial discharge, agricultural runoff, and urban waste.
