Spray, Solid, and Globular which is part way between the other two.

Why filler materials are used in welding process?

filler materials are used to fill the gap between the two job materials during the welding process

What is unique about the tig welding process?

I wouldn't call TIG unique as it was developed to replace Oxy-Acetylene welding. Basically you use a heat source to melt the base metal and either fuse or add filler to complete the weld. TIG, originally called Heliarc (Helium - electric arc), was developed sometime around WWII to weld Aluminum. Helium was used to protect the molten puddle. Since then Argon has become the primary gas sometimes mixed with Helium. Almost any type of metal can be welded with the TIG process. Except for fuse welding it is a two handed operation whereas MIG and stick welding can be performed single handed. One thing that is unique is that with the addition of a foot pedal you can control the Amperage as you weld. many planes were produced here at Wright with gas welded Aluminum most was done with Hydrogen Oxygen torch taking care to have a reducing flame

Butt-weld and grrove weld?

Butt weld and groove weld are two common types of weld joints used in welding processes. A butt weld is a type of weld where two pieces of metal are joined together along their edges in a single plane, creating a smooth, flush surface. On the other hand, a groove weld is a type of weld where a groove or channel is created in one or both of the pieces being joined, and the filler material is deposited into the groove to create the weld. Both types of weld joints are used in various applications depending on the specific requirements of the project.

Types of rectifier?

There are basically two types of rectifiers one is the half wave rectifier and the other is the full wave rectifies. The full wave rectifier is further classified into two types namely the bridge rectifier and the center tapped rectifier. There are also silicon controlled rectifiers nowadays.

What is the difference between arc welding and resistance welding?

Arc welding uses an electric arc to melt and join metal pieces together, while resistance welding uses heat generated by the resistance to electric current flow between two metal pieces to join them together. Arc welding is more versatile and can be used for various types of metals, while resistance welding is more suited for high-speed production and is commonly used in automotive and appliance manufacturing.

What are the two american welding society abbreviations for the arc welding processes that melt a tubular electrode with alloys deoxidizers and slag formers in their cores?

The American Welding Society abbreviations for the arc welding processes that melt a tubular electrode with alloys deoxidizers and slag formers in their cores are FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and metal-cored arc welding (MC).

HOW TO SELECT THE BEST WELDING ELECTRODE?

Metals and thermoplastics can be fused together by heating and melting them together, a process known as welding. Here, an electric arc is created using electric power, and the heat it produces melts the metals. Expert specialists fuse two components together by passing current through a workpiece using a welding electrode. This is the course of arc welding. Consumable or non-consumable electrodes are available. Gas tungsten arc welding is an option for non-consumable electrodes and gas metal arc welding for consumable electrodes. The metals that need to be welded, the welding process, and the environment in which the electrode will be used all play a role in the electrode selection…Read More

What are two types of arc?

Two common types of arcs are the minor arc and the major arc. A minor arc is the shorter segment of a circle, defined by two points on the circle, while a major arc is the longer segment that lies opposite the minor arc. Additionally, there are also semicircular arcs, which are exactly half of a circle. Each type of arc plays a role in geometry and various applications involving circles.

What is pressure welding?

In Pressure Welding the parts(work pieces) to be joined are heated only up to the plastic state and then fusedtogether by applying the external pressure.the two different types of pressure welding are:forge welding and resistance welding

How much training is involved in becoming an arc welder?

Arc welding is the process of joining two metal pieces together using a welding machine, electrodes, cables and clamps, and the metal to be welded. You will also need tools for preparing and cleaning the welds, and you will also need safety equipment.
