What is scanprint?

Scanprint is a security feature implemented in some printers that adds a barely visible pattern of dots to printed documents. These dots can be used to track the origin of a printed document or to identify the printer that produced it. Scanprint is often used to prevent counterfeiting and to aid in criminal investigations.
