In file processing system a permanent system file is created for every new object. Application softwares are used to manipulate these files. SO characteristics (Some of them became its drawbacks) of file processing system are:-
1)Data redundancy and inconsistency
2)Difficulty in accessing data
3)Data isolation ie. data is in different formats and files.
In database system these issues where addressed, by data abstraction.
In DBMS, data is stored using 3 levels of abstraction
1)Physical Level : How data is stored
2)Conceptual level : What data is stored, relationship between data
3)View Level : What is visible to different users.
Distributed processing involves multiple interconnected systems working together to complete a task, with each system performing a different part of the task. Parallel processing, on the other hand, involves breaking down a task into smaller sub-tasks and executing them simultaneously using multiple processors within the same system. In distributed processing, systems may be geographically dispersed, while parallel processing occurs within a single system.
Third generation of database design theory. DBMS: Database Management System RDBMS: Relational Database Management System OODBMS: Object Oriented Database Management System
A distributed database management system (DDBMS) manages databases that are stored on multiple computers, often in different locations. A parallel database management system (parallel DBMS) uses multiple processors to perform operations on a single database, improving performance by dividing tasks among these processors. In essence, DDBMS focuses on data distribution and replication across different sites, while parallel DBMS focuses on high-speed data processing using multiple processors.
In simple terms, you can look at the database as being the files or tables with the data. A database system includes the other elements like queries, reports, forms, programs and other elements that manipulate and support the data in the database.
The relationship between the information system life cycle and the database system development life cycle is that the informational systems help management entities to shift and move resources from one department to another easily by using a shared database system.
DBMS: Set of software applications combined w/ a database
what is the difference between a file system and a database system?
Transaction processing system & management information system
A personal database system allows users to store their own files and interact with other applications. An enterprise class database system allows enterprises to analyze their own data.

dbms stands for database management system and this mdbms is mulivalue database management system. if we need to store the a multidata then we have to use the mdbms
Database = Generic name for a system to store data Relational Database = A specific type of database that utilizes relationships between data to not only store the data but further its efficiency in its manipulation.
The difference between distributed system and multiprocessor system is whether the processing units in the system share the main memory. If yes, then the system is multiprocessor system; otherwise, it's a distributed system.

database is a collection of related data in any size and in any complexity whereas database management system is software for defining, constructing and manipulating databases for various reasons.
Management system is usually referring to Operations, MIS is usually computer or database specific
