Wow! What a great combination. I have worked in the environmental consulting business arena for last 25 years, so I know this area best. You would be well-received within this business area, particularly with firms who work with resource management, sustainability and EA / EIS services. Probable also to work with firms who provide engineering consulting services to both private-sector and Gov't clients. Lastly, I suggest State and Federal entities, Parks & Wildlife, Land Mgmt, regulatory agencies (EPA) etc would look well on someone with your educational background. Best of Luck!!

I have Bachelors degree in Psychology and want to pursue a Masters degree in Information Technology. Would I be a good candidate for an entry level position with in this field?

In IT, there are many things to learn at the Bachelors level before pursuing a higher degree - that is the case with most technical degrees. Usually a person would use a Masters degree in IT if they plan on becoming a manager for their profession, though then they would probably get their Masters in Business Management. If you want to get into some heavy duty details in IT, you'd probably need the lower degree in the same field, but with a degree like Psychology my guess is that you want to manage people or become a Project Manager. Before you commit to anything, talk to a school counselor. They'll be able to give you answers that are better suited to you.

What jobs can you get with a master's degree in history?

If you also have your bachelors or masters in education, you can become a teacher. You can become a museum curator, a travel agent or tour guide to a historic city, or even a legislator. There are many possibilities in the field of history. If you check college websites, and find out more about their history majors, they sometimes have a list of different careers that graduates go into. I referred to www.iastate.edu for my information. Hope this helps!

What is the difference between an master's degree by research and a master's degree by coursework?

A masters degree by course work, otherwise called a taught Masters is a degree program that requires one to do written coursework or written exams. You are required to attend classes and possibly tutorials. There are a set amount of courses that one is required to do to fulfill the requirement for a taught masters and possibly a research paper. A masters by research on the other hand, is one where the student is not required to attend classes, or write exams and submit course work but depending on the program may be required to do labs. If courses are done, these are preliminary courses to give the student foundation, for instance in research methodology. The progress of a masters by research is assessed by a Supervisor, who guides you along the duration of the program.

What is the difference between distributed and replicated database?

Distributed and replicated databases have a topology of having roles : 'masters' and 'slaves' even though in a replicated database schema, the distinction becomes a little blurred. Distributed databases are normally those where information is updated on a master. The changes in the master are distributed out to a number of slave databases. The slave databases can be updated themselves but if they are, their information isn't distributed to any other database. Should the master have updated information that would contend with information in a slave, the master would take presidence. Replicated databases are normally those in which there is the capability to post updates to both 'master' through to 'slave' as well as 'slave' through to 'master'.
