You have to know the combination of the lock. Then start at zero, you turn the dial around and around right about three times until you end up on your first number, then left to the second number, then right again to the third number. And if you got the right combo, then the lock should open. It depends on the lock. Some of them have three numbers, some have four. Certain safes start to the left, others to the right.
