To replace the screen on your porch, you will need to measure the dimensions of the existing screen, remove the old screen by taking out the spline and screen material, cut a new screen to size, and use a spline roller to install the new screen by pressing the spline into the frame.
To install a screen on your porch, you will need to measure the dimensions of the porch opening, purchase a screen kit that fits those dimensions, and follow the instructions provided in the kit to attach the screen material to the frame of your porch. You may also need tools such as a staple gun, scissors, and a ladder to complete the installation.

It appears that you will need a permit to do anything significant to your porch. You can find the permit application at http://www.townofboone.net/departments/development/single/Short%20Building%20Permit%20Application.pdf. If you are only putting on a screen and not adding any structure you may not need to get a permit so I would go to the office at 1510 Blowing Rock Road in Boone and check with them.
Hacking the PSP only changes the firmware. You can freely replace the screen, with a screen from the same model of PSP.
