Burning treated wood can release harmful chemicals into the air, so it is not recommended.
sand paper
yes but it will burn faster than most wood and make sure its about 6 months old
Pressure treated wood is not good to burn... in could have chemicals in it. If you need to burn it, burn it where people wont breath it in.
its not suggested but it also depends on the varnish.
Depends on what is with treated with. If you mean lumber treated to resist rot and insects, such as wood used on a deck or fence post- NO. The treatment chemicals are toxic- and so is the smoke from burning that wood.
No - pressure treated wood contains toxic chemicals added during the preserving process. When the wood is burned the toxic chemicals are released into the surrounding air. Breathing them is really bad for you.
Depends on the size of the wood, and its moisure content- BUT- PLEASE TAKE NOTICE- Treated lumber- such as CCA "green" wood- is treated to prevent insects or fungi eating it- the treatment is posionous to people. DO NOT burn treated lumber- it can be quite dangerous. In Europe it may be called "tanalized" wood. CCA stands for the chemicals used in treating the lumber- Chrome Copper Arsenic.
NO! Thats Highly dangerous as varnished, painted, and green treated woods release terrible toxins as they burn. Residue from treated wood sticks to the chiminey liner, if enough is burned, a liquid form of the residue will acumulate and run down the chimney liner. Never burn painted, stained, or treated wood or manufactured wood such as plywood and particle board. Chemicals in 'salt treated' wood, paint, or stains can produce toxic fumes when burned. Likewise, burning manufactured wood products produces toxins and carcinogens.
To determine if pallet wood is treated, you can look for markings or stamps on the wood indicating treatment with chemicals. You can also check for any unusual odors or discoloration that may suggest treatment. Additionally, conducting a burn test can help identify treated wood based on the color and smell of the smoke produced.
It is VERY bad. CCA stands for Chrome Copper Arsenic. Chrome and Arsenic are both very toxic heavy metals. It can make you very sick, or kill you. DO NOT BURN TREATED LUMBER. In Britain, the term "tanalized" may be used instead of CCA.
I own
In MOST cases, yes- if the wood has not been treated with preservative chemicals.
