Yes, the varnish is coming off the table.
I used varnish to clean the kitchen table.
Vegetable oil to get varnish off then soap and water :)
You want the varnish to be insoluble in water and common household solvents so you can do routine things like wash your hands and cook food without your nail polish coming off. OTOH, you want the varnish to be soluble in a chemical that's not overly toxic so it can be removed when it's damaged or your nails have grown out.
The varnish is peeling off the wood because of factors like moisture, heat, or age causing the bond between the varnish and wood to weaken and separate.

To properly apply varnish to a table top for a durable and attractive finish, follow these steps: Sand the table top to create a smooth surface. Clean the surface to remove any dust or debris. Apply a coat of varnish using a brush or cloth, following the wood grain. Allow the varnish to dry completely before applying additional coats. Sand lightly between coats for a smooth finish. Apply multiple coats of varnish for added durability. Allow the final coat to cure for the recommended time before using the table.
Use sunflower oil or nail varnish remover. Personally I would recommend nail varnish remover. WARNING! Always take old nail varnish off before putting new on.
Sometimes wood needs to be re varnished or restrained. To remove old varnish, you can use either a paint stripper or sand off the old varnish.
To maintain a varnish table for longevity and durability, follow these best practices: Clean the table regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap to remove dirt and spills. Avoid placing hot items directly on the table to prevent heat damage. Use coasters or placemats to protect the surface from scratches and moisture. Reapply varnish or protective finish as needed to maintain the table's shine and protection. Keep the table away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent fading and warping.
the best way of getting the varnish off without remover is to get a hot bath ! this may seem like a stupid answer but by leaving your nails to soak in the hot water it loosens the nail varnish allowing you to gently scratch it off with your other nail . you will get the remains of the nail varnish floating in the bath ,but they are easily sucked down the drain and you get the comfort of a warm bath at the same time . its easy if you repaint them and wipe them staight off you might have to do this twice but it works
To remove old varnish from a wooden floor, you can use a chemical stripper specifically designed for varnish removal. Apply the stripper according to the manufacturer's instructions, let it sit, then scrape off the softened varnish with a putty knife. Finally, sand the floor to remove any remaining traces of varnish and smooth out the surface.
