An embedded chart can be of any type. What makes it an embedded chart is the fact that it is embedded into a worksheet. The type of chart is not important, so it can be of any type.
no book does, the subject is too broad for any single book to cover.
examples: is any computer system that is use inside another system to control it , like washing machines (the waching machine is not the embedded system, however the device inside it that is used to make the mahine works is)
An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions,[1] often with real-time computing constraints. It is usually embedded as part of a complete device including hardware and mechanical parts. In contrast, a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, can do many different tasks depending on programming. Embedded systems control many of the common devices in use today. Since the embedded system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product, or increasing the reliability and performance. Some embedded systems are mass-produced, benefiting from economies of scale. Physically, embedded systems range from portable devices such as digital watches and MP4 players, to large stationary installations like traffic lights, factory controllers, or the systems controlling nuclear power plants. Complexity varies from low, with a single micro controller chip, to very high with multiple units, peripherals and networks mounted inside a large chassis or enclosure. In general, "embedded system" is not an exactly defined term, as many systems have some element of programmability. For example, Handheld computers share some elements with embedded systems - such as the operating systems and microprocessors which power them - but are not truly embedded systems, because they allow different applications to be loaded and peripherals to be connected.

An "embedded" computer is a computer that is part of another device. For instance modern televisions have a computer inside them. This computer is part of the television and is dedicated just to doing what the television needs to work. Another example would be the computer comprising the engine management system of modern cars.Another term often used for an embedded computer is a 'micro controller'. This is because the main purpose of an embedded computer is to control something. All of the following contain an embedded computer:telephonestelevisionscameraswashing machinesmicrowave cookersdishwasherscarsThese systems are mostly used in all type of communication computing, display and any other electronic device that we can think of. Spanning across all aspects of modern life consisting of communication, science, education and entertainment, embedded system are dedicated to specific tasks.A specialized computer system that is part of a larger system or machine. Typically, an embedded system is housed on a single microprocessor board with the programs stored in ROM. Virtually all appliances that have a digital interface -- watches, microwaves, VCRs, cars -- utilize embedded systems. Some embedded systems include an operating system, but many are so specialized that the entire logic can be implemented as a single program.
FreeBSD is an operating system for computers and embedded systems and is used by computer professionals and it offers a fast and stable operating system than can be used for any purpose.
An embedded system or embedded computer system is a computer system which is designed to perform one or more tasks related to a particular real time application with application specific microcontroller or microprocessor based circuitry embedded in it.They are aimed at providing responses within a set deadline by the manufactured who would have deviced it from customers point of view. In contrast, general purpose computer system is a computer system which is designed to perform one or more tasks related to general purpose applications with a general purpose microprocessor based circuitry either existing as a separate unit(as in desktop) or embedded(as in palmtop, laptop). They are mainly aimed at providing maximum throughput(Throughput refers to measure of system's execution efficiency in instructions per second).A general purpose computer is a non-real time system,in the sense it need not meet deadlines.A general purpose computer is built around various embedded peripherals such as mouse, printer, router, scanner, etc.Real time system refers to a system which responds to any user input with minimum latency.Since PC's are surrounded by embedded peripherals they cannot come under category of embedded systems because of the following reason: They require a external reset by the user when system hangs.whereas in embedded systems an on chip WDT (WatchDogTimer ,also referred to as COP[ComputerOperatingProperly]timer automatically resets the system under such condition.
Embedded computers are devices that perform a specific function in a higher assembly. The limitations of any particular embedded computer are the specifications for which it was designed. I once designed, fabricated, and coded a microprocessor based add-on for an internal navigation system. Within the INS was a single pin that was modulated with a series of several hundred bits in a ring format. All the µprocessor had to do was find the frame start pattern and demodulate the data into a memory array, then broadcast selected information out of a UART (COMM port interface). This is an example of an embedded computer. It had a specific function that it performed continuously. Some other examples of embedded computers are the Video, Sound, NIC, and/or Modem cards you may find in the backplane of your PC. Most of these functions are performed in (embedded into) the Chipset of the PC, but the design of the motherboard allows you to turn off any of these features if you want to upgrade to a better board.
An embedded system has a self-contained operating system on a "chip" thus embedded into the system and does not rely on having a hard disk with the operating system on it. Not to mention that is will be much faster because the access time of the OS on a chip. More specifically... An embedded system has historically been defined as a single function product where the intelligence is embedded in the system. It could be anything from a dishwasher to a hearing aid, if that product includes a microprocessor and software. A PC is designed to be a general purpose computing environment. Many of today's embedded systems are looking more like PCs with user interfaces, touchscreens, displays, keypads and more. Still, these are not general function systems but are designed to perform very specific functions.
An embedded chart is shown as part of an existing worksheet. A chart that is not embedded is on a chart sheet of its own.
For example, a spreadsheet object can be brought into a word-processing document. Any time the spreadsheet object is updated in the original spreadsheet software, the object is automatically updated in the destination document.
