The purpose of a Gould breaker in an electrical circuit is to protect the circuit from overloads and short circuits by interrupting the flow of electricity when necessary.
The key features of the Gould circuit breaker include high durability, reliable performance, and advanced safety features. Benefits include protection against electrical overloads, short circuits, and fires, as well as easy installation and maintenance.
A suitable replacement for a Gould circuit breaker would be a compatible breaker from a different brand that is designed to fit and function within the existing panel. It is important to match the specifications of the original breaker, such as voltage, current rating, and type, to ensure proper protection and safe operation of the electrical system. Consulting a licensed electrician or the panel's manufacturer for guidance on selecting a compatible replacement is recommended.
Siemens circuit breakers are compatible with Gould electrical panels. Siemens acquired the Gould brand, so their circuit breakers are designed to fit and work with Gould panels. Be sure to double-check the specifications to ensure compatibility before installation.
Siemens type P, ITE as well
Does anyone know what brand breaker replaces a Gould breaker???
In many fields companies are bought and sold on a regular basis. So it is with many circuit breaker companies Siemens is the current name; previously it was ITE-GOULD; previous to that it was just ITE Some breaker models will carry through and be of the same design and fit no matter which brand label is on it. In most of those cases the model # does not change. Some breaker get obsoleted after the mergers. Sometimes new models are added.
Siemens and Eaton are two common brands that make breakers that are compatible with Gould GFCI breakers. Ensure to check the specifications and compatibility to make sure the replacement breaker will work properly in your electrical panel.
Sounds like a defective breaker in the box, or a loose wire connection. Tighten connections at breakers, and neutral bus bar. Sometimes you can feel the breaker slightly vibrating, BUT ,be very careful!
They didn't used to be, however, Square D now has a "homeline" line of circuit breakers which interchange with gould. They are available at Lowes, Home Depot and other hardware stores. Make sure you purchase the identical amperage Square D "homeline" breaker.
Gould electrical panels typically require breakers that are specifically designed to fit them. Look for breakers that are compatible with Gould panels, such as those made by the same manufacturer or ones that are labeled as compatible with Gould panels. It is important to check the panel's specifications and consult an electrician if unsure.
Siemens bought Gould so a Siemens panel should work.
Siemens from Home Depot. Perhaps more.
