The deck cantilever chart is important in bridge design and construction because it helps engineers determine the maximum allowable cantilever length for the bridge deck. This information is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the bridge during construction and throughout its lifespan.
Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge.
Advantages of cantilevers -Building out from each end enables construction to be done with little disruption to navigation below. The span can be greater than that of a simple beam, because a beam can be added to the cantilever arms. Cantilever bridges are very common over roads. Because the beam is resting simply on the arms, thermal expansion and ground movement are fairly simple to sustain. Cantilever arms are very rigid, because of their depth.Disadvantages of cantilevers - Like beams, they maintain their shape by the opposition of large tensile and compressive forces, as well as shear, and are therefore relatively massive. Truss construction is used in the larger examples to reduce the weight.
Tenders were invited in 1923 in accordance with general plans and specifications prepared by Dr J.J.C. Bradfield, Chief Engineer, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Railway Construction. The plans and specification provided the alternatives of a cantilever bridge or an arch bridge. Twenty proposals were received from six different companies for various types of design, including suspension bridges not covered by Dr Bradfield's specification. The tender of Dorman Long and Co. Ltd., of Middlesborough England for an arch bridge was accepted, the design being substantially in accordance with one of Dr Bradfield's proposals. The detailed design was carried out by the Contractor's Consulting Engineer, Sir Ralph Freeman, and the fabrication and construction were under the direct charge of Mr Lawrence Ennis, a director of the firm. The design and the construction of the bridge were supervised at all stages by Dr. Bradfield and his staff. (Source Roads and Trafic Authority NSW) Link Below
in the 1880s, when poor bridge design and cheap building materials led to rail bridge collapses that called attention to the need for systematic analysis of bridge design and construction methods.
The advantages of using a cantilever hanger in structural design include its ability to support heavy loads, its flexibility in design, and its efficiency in space utilization.

The number of bars used in the construction of a bridge varies depending on the design and size of the bridge. Generally, bridges are constructed using multiple bars to provide structural support and strength.
The bridge design was based on New York's Hells Gate Bridge
The significance of 4770 is usually known as the Bridge No. L-4770 which is one of Minnesota's historical bridges. It is famous for its engineering in structure and design.
