The water level in your toilet may be low due to a clog in the pipes, a faulty fill valve, or a problem with the float mechanism. It is important to troubleshoot and fix the issue to ensure proper functioning of your toilet.
The tub and toilet connect to the same drain at some point. The main drain was plugged but the connection between the toilet and tub was still open. Water seeks it's own level. When the water came up in the toilet, the tub was lower so some of it went there.
YOU DON'TIt is pre determined by the seal of the trapBasically when the toilet is designed the volume of retained water at the bottom of the toilet is calculated so that it stops effluent gasses coming back up the stench pipe in to the toilet and also to stop waste that goes down sticking to the bottom of the bowl.
i don't think so

Usually not. If toilet has a mixing valve going to it so warm water fills toilet tank and toilet runs constantly, then enough warm water could leak out through toilet to possibly have an effect on water heater.
A ballcock is a ball float on the end of a lever in the water closet of a toilet. As the level of water in the closet rises, so does the floating ballcock. When the water level is high enough, the lever operates a sliding valve and the water coming into the closet is shut off.
I don't think so because then it has nasty toilet water on it
Your toilet may be loud when refilling due to a faulty fill valve or a high water pressure in the plumbing system. This can cause water to rush into the tank quickly, creating noise. Consider checking and replacing the fill valve to reduce the noise level.
The water level in the tank is not high enough to start with possibly. The flapper may not be holding enough air. Some low flush toilets have a plastic divider or ring around the flapper drain that limits the amount of water. This can be removed. I would adjust the water level in the tank so that it stops filling when the level is 1/4 inch below the top of the overflow tube.
Install a tempering valve in water line feeding toilet. Tempering valve will mix hot and cold water together so warm water fills toilet tank which will stop condensation.
That is an opinion, not a fact. There is not a reliable answer for the question because, for one thing, not many have tasted toilet water. If you have, and you have the opinion of it being great, then there is no question needed to be asked. Toilet water is clean enough, but the toilet bowl may not be. The water tank may also not be sanitary. Because of this, humans are not recommended to even try. Related yet off-topic fact, if you inquire: Dogs have been rumored to love drinking out of the toilet, although this is rare in dogs and they only do so because their owner has forgotten/neglected to give the dog water. They drink out of this when in dire thirst because it is, in most cases, level, but another reason may just be out of curiosity.
I prefer toilet water (so tap water)
