I understand exactly what you are saying and it's far tougher to meet a good man than it is for a man to meet a good woman. After all, there is far more women in the world than men. Also, it's extremely important you date a man before ever bringing them home to meet your child(ren). Your children seeing different men coming in and out of the house is not a good idea (I am sure you have thought of this already.) Start circulating with your friends and you may get lucky like I did and meet "Mr. Right." Weddings, special birthday parties or just a mixed group of people at a friends house are especially great for meeting nice guys. I find bars or night clubs the worst places to go to find that special someone. Join a church group (just because a guy goes to church doesn't mean he isn't fun and exciting) or join other groups.
