As I am in the Air Training Corps already, I went to my first AEF (Air Experience Flying) last Thursday , 19 April 2012, at RAF Boscombe Down. It was well enough to be honest, especially doing the aerobatics in the air. First of all, in the Air Training Corps try and do your best as you can. Make sure your attendance is high enough. I got a Best Recruit Award for 2011, and this also went towards my CV especially to go Sixth Form. As I said, the more you do in the Air Cadets, the more it will push you up to become a pilot in the RAF. As well as Air Cadets, you need 5 A*-C Grades including English, Maths and Physics.
Good Luck in the future!
Flight Lieutenant Shreeves.
usual a few years with all the right training
"Spitfires" were the main "fighter" planes. "Hurricanes" were important too, particularly during the "Battle of Britain". There were several other fighter planes too. There were also several types of "bombers" and other planes.
Depends on the type of pilot. Working as a Pilot for a company such as the RAF would require 20/20 vision. However just a pilot of a private plane may be ok.
Yes, you can.

Dogas Bader, RAF Pilot
First, you have to be extremely smart. You need good reports from school, then you have to pass a strenuous fitness test and aptitude tests.
Nope - Aircraft controls don't require the pilot to be right-handed.
Someone who flies a plane in the Royal Air Force (Britain) Improvement--- You can fly in the RAF and fly jets etc... (after LOTS of training) OR You can fly as a commercial pilot, transporting troops
No, you cannot enter pilot training in the RAF if you wear glasses.
