Nelson Mandela, born Rolihlahla Mandela, was the first of his family to attend school. While at school, he was given the name Nelson. Mandela's father died when he was nine years old, and he was put under the guardianship of the regent Jongintaba.

Nelson was a born leader, as he showed his responsibility from a young age. When he was younger he used to take care of his family and showed accountability by making sure everything went right through all the inequality that the public showed his people.
