Indian Universities recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), and those universities which are member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) maintain high standards of research. Universities of State and Central Government in India maintain high quality of education and research. These PhD degree holders are high intellects and are of good quality. As far as recognition in US is concerned I don't think that there should be any problem.
