Queen Elizabeth 1st often had her Ladies-in-waiting wrap her in 8 layers of clothes and layers of underwear. They would decorate her red curls with flowers or jewels. Her face was covered in a white makeup made of poisonous lead, egg whites, and poppy seeds (she made this herself to fix her complexion).

You can also see a painting of her by clicking on the related links section indicated below. She also had red curly hair and had black and rotting teeth she looks so plump in pictures because she was wrapped in so many layers. But otherways she was actually quite thin.
