The separation of England was from the body that derived from the Council of Trent [1564]. This came about as a result of political adventures in England, [ The pope wanting to remove the Queen,] in which the papacy had no right to be taking part!
The results of the altercation between Pope and King resulted in the English Church taking the part of the early church in an ongoing argument between Church and pope.
Where did authority stem from, Rome or Scripture and tradition. For England it was the latter!
